Freeman`s BBQ in Carlisle

I'm sorry, but roast beef that has been soaking in water on top of a stove is not BBQ just because you cover it was a bad sauce.

It looked legit from the road and smelled great. I ordered the brisket platter with slaw and greens. My daughter had the pulled pork platter with taters. The slaw and greens were good. The brisket is thin sliced like lunch meat. It didn't have a lot of flavor, but it wouldn't have been bad except for the amount of not rendered down fat slices. I'd say 1/3 of the brisket was slices of chewy fat. My daughter wasn't a fan of the pork either, but it wasn't bad. I may try something different IF I go back, but not sure i will.

Very delicious pulled pork sandwich

Went here for the first time tonight and we were blown away. I had the full slab of spare ribs which is a big slab of tender, fall off the bones meat and the sauce is great- the right mix of spicy and sweet. Beans had great flavor. If you have not been here you owe it to yourself to go. One tip - you eat at picnic tables in a beautiful backyard, so take bug spray. Oh and the place is dog friendly so take your dog!

Great BBQ! Love that it is dog friendly! Barkley loved his bone and meat. Pulled chicken and burnt ends were great! Fresh lemonade and iced tea were delicious! We will be back!

Their corn soup was delicious, their lemonade, the Best ever and their Dirty Dog beats all other hot dog around.

Best ribs I've had in a long time. Great cheerful service. We tried some of their Jerky & it was really tasty.

Awesome! Real smoked meat and the favor is out of this world. The only reason it's not five stars is because the only seating is outside. The place is definitely worth checking out. Oh, and the people there are so nice. Hey fellow service members; they offer a military discount.

The service is awesome.The food has no smoke flavor,it seems like they boil the meat and then put it on the grill to finish cooking to call it BBQ.I will not be going back to flavorless meats☹

One of the hidden gems of Cumberland County. Freeman's has a great variety of barbecued foods and sides. Gary always have a smile on his face and greet you like you've known them for years. Extremely dog friendly site with a place for you to water and feed your dogs in the back!

Bbq is an all time favorite food for us. So we tried plenty! Freemans takes the cake... Or sauce, if u will. Visited during covid so sauces werent out for us to sample all but we did get regular, spicy and honey mustard sauce. All yummy! Food was good portion sized with plenty of flavoring, and not all the meat taste like the same seasoning. Chili and corn soup, pickles, collard greens (true southern style) mac and cheese, texas taters..... We also have fresh squeezed lemonade and half tea. We went with the sampler to try a little of it all. Not disappointed. Quarter 🐔. Pork sub with onions, ribs and wings.... Will definitely be back, ALOT! Also have a cute station for the dogs with water dishes, leashes and poop bags. And of course, we grabbed a beef bone for our puppers.... Keep it up freemans!

If I could give 0 stars I would everything I got was cold the brisket had 0 flavor the mac n cheese tasted like stuff from a can and the potatoes tasted old even the bread was stale an the sodas looked like they had mold round the tops of them it was expensive for litterally no reason. And I sat at the tables there was ants and bird poop over all of them I will never come back here waste of money and food was gross!

The food was great and they were very knowledgeable about gluten free.

Food is really good they keep strange seasonal hours but from my understanding that is normal for really good BBQ stands the staff is very friendly and quickly gathered your order together

Usually prefer beef ribs but the baby back pork ribs were awesome. The ribs were meaty, very moist and fell right off the bone! Also , great coleslaw. We will definitely go back

You squirt bbq sauce out of bucket onto unflavoured meat. Experience goes down from there.

Great meats, side could be better. Sides were bland.

If you love REAL BBQ, you need to go here! Take you dog, they have all the items you need to eat and make your dog feel welcome too!! They even offer a portion for your pet at no cost! Great Food, Great Service and Pet Friendly! The sauces.... YES! Their southern style is the mustard based that is just on point with a touch of heat that you just can't get around here! Freeman's Fan! The one thing I would say is they could add a little more to their rub but it is still on point!

Inexpensive, large portions, and yummy!!

Amazing authentic pit barbeque! Only open seasonally, as it's outside. Can stop by for take out. We go Sundays after church in the summer and sit out back. Dog friendly with water and treats. I'd give it five stars but it's too expensive for us to go there on a regular basis. Slightly cheaper and we wouldn't eat anywhere but here on Sundays.

I've stopped a few times gotten their bucket of legs hi there beef Subs with sauteed onions had their Pork and Beef burnt ends it was awesome always tender the sides you get good-sized helpings I think it's awesome

The Most dog friendly restaurant we have ever been to. Food is excellent, staff is friendly. They have picnic tables with leashes attached to them and they provide dog bowls with an outdoor watering station with fresh clean water. It was the perfect end to a four mile hike at LaFort.

Svc is good and the food is very good.

Sausage with onions and peppers was delicious. My husband had a Pit beef sandwich which was amazing. Loved it!❤

Drove past this place for years but never stopped till yesterday. Should of stopped sooner! The food is amazing and and the portion sizes are more than most places. Highly recommend.
